Mehmet Bayraktar’s Nonvisible Dreams will be on view in Öktem Aykut between 2 and 23 May 2026. The opening event is on Saturday, 2 May, between 15:00–18:00. Nonvisible Dreams is Bayraktar’s first exhibition at Öktem Aykut, and the first in a series of exhibitions to be held in the gallery’s office space.
Nonvisible Dreams consists of seven canvases produced in 2024 and 2025, and a series of pastels from 2026. In these works, Bayraktar deals with the tensions and interdependencies in the relationship between humans and the natural world. The name of the exhibition alludes to the permeable states between what is apparent and what is intangible.
Bayraktar’s paintings feature sharp, decisive marks, dense layers of paint and a pronounced use of color. Using a color-driven approach, he sustains a dynamic tension in harmony with an inner equilibrium in his work.
