Selim Birsel

Selim Birsel (born 1963, Brussels) is a multidisciplinary artist. He lives and works in Istanbul and Volissos.
His work is ranges from drawing, painting, installation, photography, video, performance to public interventions. He incorporates unconventional materials such as dust, stamps, spices and found objects.
Birsel worked as lecturer in Bilkent University from 1993 to 1999 and has been a lecturer at Sabanci University since 1999, where he is teaches Art Studios in Visual Art (undergraduate and master degree). He is also involved in curating since 1991 in diverse projects and institutions; Responsible for organizing Sabancı University KASA GALLERY from 1999 to now on and he is a directing member of BJCEM since 1999. Since 1990, he’s been exhibiting his works in national and international shows.
